Romantic Engagement Session at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa
There’s something truly magical about engagement sessions in the heart of downtown Ottawa and the National Arts Centre (NAC), one of my favourite places to bring that magic to life. From its sleek modern architecture to its incredible light and rooftop views, the NAC offers a stunning backdrop for couples who want a chic and timeless vibe for their engagement photos.
Recently, I had the absolute joy of photographing Gia & Stefano at this iconic Ottawa landmark, and their session couldn’t have been more perfect.
Why the NAC Is a Dream Location for Engagement Photos
Located right on Elgin Street, the National Arts Centre is a gem for couples who want a mix of urban energy and elegant architecture. With its dramatic glass walls, bright red carpets, and views of Parliament Hill jfrom the rooftop, it gives endless variety without ever needing to change locations.
We started the session inside the National Arts Centre’s signature spiral staircase lined with lushes bright red carpets. Throughout the session we explored the building’s sharp lines and soft lighting before heading to the rooftop making use of the building’s outstanding views of Ottawa’s iconic Fairmont Chateau Laurier for a mix of those candid and posed shots.
gia + Stefano Brought the Vibes
From the moment they arrived, Gia and Stefano were all smiles, totally in sync with each other. Their outfits? Classic and effortlessly stylish, complemented the modern surroundings perfectly. But the real magic came from their connection. Every laugh, glance, and hand-squeeze was completely them. Natural. Honest. Beautiful.
These are the kinds of moments that make photographing engagement sessions such a joy.
